This is my first solo holiday and I'm very much looking forward to it and I'd love to hear from anyone who is going on the same holiday or anyone else who is an experienced solo traveller and seek thier views.

One thing I'm not certain of is the typical age range and as a young 45 year old I'm hoping to fit in very well with fellow travellers.

Thank you for your message Rose and the advice with the prices for goods. I was in Turkey last year and they're very pushy there.

I'm hoping, like you, that I enjoy this trip so much I'll want to go time and time again as there's so many fantantic places to go.

Travelling alone means I go where I want to and don't have to worry about others which is a big advantage.

Did this tour Sept 2007. Really wonderful. One word of caution: be careful when buying leather goods or rugs. Some have a terrible smell which you don't notice to begin with and it won't go away!

Thanks for the advice Carrie, Sounds to me like you're speaking from experience. Got this vision now for you having a bad whiff around your house lol.

Been keeping an eye on the availability and have noted it's now sold out. If anyone who has recently booked up would like to introduce themselves that'll be great. Looking forward to meeting you all and what is my 1st solo holiday.

Hi Praslin. oops sorry! Had looked through messages but had not realised that you had already started a thread. We then, obviously, both posted a message on the same day. Started the countdown - looking forward to Morocco and meeting up with everyone. I went on a JY holiday last year - it was wonderful. Don't worry about it being your first holiday - everyone is the same - all travelling solo!

Hello to all planning this trip to Morocco. I went in Sept 2008 and it was terrific. You will travel a long way in this diverse country seeing most of what it has to offer. The hotels are very good and also the food. The locals are friendly and going to the markets is an experience. I bought lots of different spices and a beautiful hand woven berber rug.I may go back for another visit one day,it really was a special place to visit. Dont forget to pack your swim wear as the hotels have pools. Its also a safe country to wander the city streets at night.

Hello "mabes". Thanks for your comments and advice; it is good to get feedback on holidays. I've had mixed reactions when I've told people where I'm going so it is wonderful to get such a positive reaction from you and others on this "thread". I'm really looking forward (understatement!) to experiencing the sights, sounds and colour of the country. Do you get pestered when taking photos etc? ... begging for money? In other countries in Africa (also China), ball-point pens & sweets were requested. Is this the same in Morocco?

Got my final documents through the post this week so I'm getting excited now as I know it's close. I've got a bit of spare time at Heathrow before we fly so I'd like to meet fellow travellers in the lounge beforehand and chat. Let me know if you're going to be there and prehaps we can meet up.
