Have just booked for China in April, there were only 2 places left. This will be my first Just You holiday, and my first 'single' holiday so am a little apprehensive but looking forward to it as well. Have not much idea what to expect so would be grateful for any advice you have.

Good to hear from someone else going on same trip. Is it just the tour you have booked for or will you be doing the Yangtze add-on? At the moment I haven't any advice to give relating to this trip, however, I can say I have been on 2 Just You holidays i.e. Italy & West Coast of America, having not holidayed on my own before. Couldn't fault either - made friends very quickly both times and met some very nice interesting people. Therefore, no need to feel apprehensive plus everything is arranged for you and it's just a case of following everyone else. Which part of the country will you be travelling from? I live in Essex on the east coast. Look forward to hearing from you.

i suggest you all take/wear very comfortable shoes, there is alot of walking and longish days.

Lovely to hear from you, no not doing the Yangtze add-on, as it is my first trip thought I wouldn't be too ambitious, probably will wish I had later on! I also come from Essex, Colchester actually, so probably not too far from you. How are you travelling to Heathrow?

You are not going to believe this, I live in Kirby-le-soken and work in Colchester. Haven't yet made any arrangements for travelling to Heathrow. In the past I have either got a lift or taxi, however, this time I think it's going to be taxi, National Express or maybe train - what about yourself?

Visa form and balance paid. Before we know we will all be meeting at Heathrow.

A friend who's been to China recently said they found that it was very useful to carry the pocket size hand cleanser's with them.

I replied to your message last weekend so don't know what happened to it! I suggested that we might meet up for a coffee in Colchester some time before our trip. What you think? We might be able to arrange to travel to Heathrow together, let me know which days are best for you and what time and I will fit in.

I think there must be a problem sometimes with the message board as I have also posted messages to find they have not appeared. However, if we are successful in exchanging these next couple of messages are you free next Wednesday? i.e. 24th Feb as I will be in town that morning and could meet up with you say around 11.00am. Just let me know if okay and where you think would be best plus give me some clue as to how I will recognise you. Otherwise, as I work on the Severall Business Park I could meet you in Tesco's for coffee more or less anytime. If this is best for you give me a couple of dates/times when you are free and then I will confirm details. Look forward to hearing from you.

Yes can do next Wed 24th at 11.00. How about outside main door of Williams and Griffin (or just inside if it really cold!). How to describe me, well I am about 5ft 7" with brown hair, and I can carry a copy of Just You magazine, shouldn't think there will be many of those around...

Hi to everyone else too, I live in Surrey, so am getting the tube/train to Heathrow probably. In pack is a ticket to the lounge where I guess we'll all meet each other. So looking forward to this trip, a friend did the same trip 3 years ago, said it's absolutely exhausting, some early starts, but a life changing experience!! Can't wait..

Transport to Heathrow booked, currency sorted. Have managed to get some 3 in 1 packets of coffee as I did notice somebody said that ther weren't any in the rooms. Some friends showed me there pics from there holidays to China and it looks like another holiday with several hundred taken - thank goodness for digital cameras.
