Hi,
This year willl be my first Christmas and New Year without my husband (he passed away last March). His family are planning a getaway in the New Forest for Christmas, but I’m thinking about one of the JY New Year breaks - possibly Oxford or London.
Embarrassed to say I’m actually quite scared about a celebration like this on my own (can’t imagine how it’s going to feel without him), but I feel if I don’t venture out and at least try something like this I’ll be spending the rest of my days at home by myself.
Anyone else in a similar situation and planning to celebrate NY with JY ?

I’ve just booked up the London New Year short break - so would love to hear from anyone else going.

Hi Dave
Well done for booking the New Year short break. I have not booked anything for Christmas or New Year as am not sure what is going to happen with the travel. Have a lovely time

I'm still looking at Brighton for Christmas, if it is still running.

I have been on 4 New Year holidays with JY and each time have enjoyed every minute. I think you just have to accept that’s it’s going to be different and go for it. Most people on the trip will have had a similar experience of loss and are happy to be sociable and friendly. Hope you have a wonderful time.
