Untold Cambodia & Laos 6 November
Post: #1
Just a heads up that I have today had details of a change of itinerary affecting days 4, 5 & 6. We are no longer using the hotel in Kratie (adverse feedback) but have extra nights elsewhere. The order of events is changed slightly but so far as I can see we still get to see everything, but not necessarily in the same order.
At the time of typing this the web site has not been updated to reflect the new itinerary.

Hi Ian

Yes I have had that letter too. I have also queried the change in flight times since I booked and am still waiting for a response.

Only 5 months to go - am really not wishing the summer away!.

Regards
Chris

Hi Ian,

This tour is on my radar so I'd really appreciate it if you could write a review when you get back.  I was in Cambodia five years ago and loved it, so would be very interested in seeing more of the country.

Best wishes,

Bob

I've just got home to find that letter.
I have to say I'm quite happy about the change of hotel, I had read and heard some quite bad reviews. A friend's mum did this trip last year and after reading some reviews I asked her opinion of the hotel - her response was 'oh the fawlty towers one!!' It's nice to see that JY listen to the feedback.
As you say Ian there doesn't seem to be any other major changes. The countdown is starting to pick up now!
And on other good news it seems like we don't need a visa for Vietnam.

Hi Jonah/Chris, Bob & Paula,

Not ignoring you all but I seem to have forgotten to subscribe to this thread and only picked up the responses today!

Jonah/Chris I saw your exchange re flight times on another thread. It makes no difference to me as I was planning to travel to LHR the previous day. The downfall of living on an island. I am booked into that favourite JY stomping ground the Premier Inn on the Bath Road. Ages to go but I'm already looking at 2019!

Bob Like you I have been to Cambodia previously. It was a few days after Vietnam and turned out to be the hidden gem hence the return visit. The joy about this trip is that all movement in the country is via ground transportation so you see a lot more of the country/people. There will certainly be a review afterwards (probably 2 with Jonah!!)

Paula I was in Burma last year and one of the people on that trip did Cambodia earlier this year. I have had a private rave review and as you say no visa for Vietnam.

Hi Ian/Paula

I am now booked into the new Premier at T4 - 10 mins walk to the terminal so no Hoppa bus required.

Am really looking forward to this trip as I promised myself this one after my trip to Burma couple of years ago so it will good to compare notes and happy to leave the review to you Ian!!

Best wishes

I phoned to book the Halong Bay Cruise today and received my updated invoice shortly afterwards - I noticed that the invoice is still showing two nights at the Mekong Dolphin Hotel..........I thought this was the hotel that had been changed? Is there a reason the invoice hasn't been updated to reflect the change.
Thanks
Paula

Vickie,

Well spotted Paula.

I've just spotted that my latest invoice also still shows the Mekong Dolphin Hotel. The change of hotel is probably not showing for other/all travellers.
