In case you are not aware the voucher for airport lounges that are included with some holidays only entitles you to 3 hours in the lounge. If, like me next month, you are likely to arrive at the airport early because of connecting transport then you cannot go to the lounge before this time.

Having said that Jonah, I think it is worth giving it a try. In my experience of airport lounges which I have paid for, the staff can be quite flexible if it is not a tremendously busy time. I have certainly been allowed to stay on in a lounge much longer than the 3 hours I'd paid for, having asked them if it was OK, & have also arrived at a lounge earlier than I'd estimated on a connection & been let in.....in fact once they took one look at me (after a long haul flight), suggested I got a coffee & then took a shower, which I hadn't even known I was entitled to! I think that was LHR T2.

Thank you Jonah,
I was aware of this. I shall be on a private trip and will buy the pass direct from LHR's website. I know Holiday Extras sometimes do a discount, but that company is one I try to avoid.

Hi Jonah,
That's a good point although I once tried to get into an airport lounge around 15 minutes before the start time and they let me in! I wouldn't risk it before that however - it must have been my angelic looks....
All the best,
Bob

I found this the hard way on my first JY long haul trip. I was also told the three hours is counted back from flight departure time so the time allowed is nearer two hours than two. Still, it does allow more shopping time!

I think they restrict the times so that the lounge does not get too crowded!
