Yes it's another Borneo thread for May!!
Post: #1
Hi Monty,

As our Borneo tour will be leaving in six weeks (wow!) I just thought I'd ask for a final breakdown in stats for those going - the number on the main tour and the number doing the add-on, gender balance and age range for both please?  Also is Erica Hadju still our tour manager?  I presume she will meet us at Heathrow?

Best wishes,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Hasn't it come around so quickly?! There are 23 people on the main tour, with 14 of these also doing the Singapore add-on. There are 19 women and 4 men on the main tour, with 10 of these women and the 4 men in the Singapore group. The ages of the group range from the mid-40's up to the early-70's.

Erica is still allocated as your Tour Manager and will be meeting you at Heathrow.

Kindest regards,
Monty

Hi Bob
You have just made me chuckle with the title of this new thread, thank you. It was just what I needed as my mum passed away two weeks ago and it was the funeral today, which I had to organize.
Hopefully I can now focus a little bit more on this exciting holiday where, I think, many of us are going to struggle with the humidity.
After reading another post I am now wondering do I buy magicool spray or continue with my wet wipes, which could wipe off deet. Or am I just getting too paranoid--No I am not, before AbbaDave says I definitely am. Sorry Dave !!!
All the best Di

Hi Bob

I can't wait to hear all about your holiday, have no doubt you will be able to give us lots of tips before we head out in June.

People might be beginning to suspect that you're getting a bit excited about Borneo, Mr Gray.... Big Grin

Alaska takes off in May as well - are we likely to collide in departures at Heathrow? We head off on 23rd.

It would be fun to meet up again if schedules and terminals coincide.
Have an amazing time if not
Mandy

Hi Di, I'm very sorry to hear about your mother's death.  Hopefully the Borneo tour will give you a lift - I did the China tour a short while after my mother died two years ago and it really did help to lift my spirits.  Really looking forward to meeting you - Elaine (Bosuncat) says you are lovely!!  I'm definitely going to bring the cool down spray but I might bring some wipes too.  Hard to know what to do for the best!  I'm also going to try to get a mossie repellent plug in spray for the lodges - I used one a few years ago and reckon it'd be a good idea as there's no air con in either of them.  Could be hard to get in rural Ireland though!

Hi Taffy, lovely to hear from you!  Jaya has volunteered to write the review afterwards but I'll certainly add some comments to it!  Hope you have a brill time on the June departure.

Hi Mandy, hope you have an amazing time on the Alaska tour - if I wasn't doing Borneo at the same time I'd be insanely jealous!!  We leave on the 19th so I'm afraid I won't be bumping into you at the airport.  Safe travelling and I look forward to reading your review when you get back.

Cheers everyone,

Bob

Hi Bob
Thank you for your kind words, am sure holiday will lift my spirits.
Think I might get a mossie repellent plug as well. probably not bother with magicool.
Look forward to meeting you too.

E-mailed Elaine before we met on our Slovenia trip. Hopefully I will catch up with her again when I do another European JY trip.
Elaine, if you read this I do read your posts avidly. Happy travelling.

All the very best, see you in 6 weeks, Di

Hi Bob,
You can get the mossie plug ins at Boots so if there is not a branch near you I'm sure you could pick one up at the airport. Have a great trip.
Regards,
Roger.
