Yello Fever Jab for Zambia Add-on
Post: #1
Good news. As from February this year travellers from countries that have recently been declared by the World Health Organisation as 'low risk yellow fever countries' will no longer have to produce proof of vaccination when they arrive in South Africa. Zambia is one of the 'low risk' countries. This is good news for me as I have been informed by my consultant at Macmillan Cancer Centre that I can't have yellow fever injection as it is a 'live' vaccine, I still wonder if it would be worth taking a letter of medical exemption when I go to South Africa next September?

Hi Jaya, I would definitely get the letter of medical exemption just to be on the safe side - better safe than sorry!

Best wishes,

Bob

Thanks Bob. I will do so just in case they change the rules whilst I am there! I will make sure I get an appointment with the doctor a few months before travel - it is so hard to get an appointment nowadays!
