Crete sounds great, thank you for your good review as usual.
The island is now firmly on a European bucket list for me.
Hi Bosuncat
Pleased to hear that you had such a good time in Crete.
I will be thinking about going there in May, so could possibly cross paths with you again.
Best wishes
Di
That would have been great Di. Sadly, the cattery of choice for the cats is already fully booked for that date so I shall have to miss Crete next year.

Unless BA change our contracted flights from London Heathrow to Chania, this will remain the same.
Kind Regards,

Just curious but what's the huge difference between Gatwick & Heathrow? They're not that far apart and travel links between them are ok.
Obviously one or the other may be a bit more convenient to some people but hey, that's travel for you!
Sue
Very true Sue. However I do not drive, and won't go via London on the train, so even travelling to Heathrow involves National Express for me. Getting to Gatwick means less choice on coaches, and at least a 6 hour journey for me. I totally respect people who travel a lot further than me by the way!

Also both airports involves at least one overnight stop in hotel. It all bumps the price up of course. It's such a shame as I wanted to go back next year, but as you can see from my reply to Dina, the dates won't work out for me.

I'm with you Bob. I live in Scotland and, apart from holidays which depart from a local airport, I inevitable have to pay for a flight to London and often an overnight hotel. Have now decided Will only come to London for long haul holidays!

Hi Bosuncat
Goodness, I hadn't thought about your cats.
Presumably you have to book holidays well in advance just to ensure that the catteries have space for your pets
Best wishes

Hi I'm just commenting on this thread to bring it back up to the top of the list again, as I saw someone asking about it on another part of the forum. This is a lovely trip, excellent hotel, great restaurants and a wonderful setting.
All the best,
Bob
