I'd like some advice on clothing to take. I did a Rockies tour early Sep 2016 & took a light pack away jacket & a couple of fleeces. For most of the trip I was freezing & ended up buying gloves & extras. I have a knee length padded coat.....would this be suitable or something lighter? All clothing tips gratefully received!

Hi there Maria..

I have now done New England tour twice once with Canada, the other was Boston, New England and New York..both tours during late September...I always go for layers!!!

My anorak can be very light or I can zip in a thick fleece, or just wear the fleece in its own so it covers all weathers, which comes in very handy!! Might be worth thinking of getting something similar than a big coat..I always take gloves and a couple different weight scarfs, as well as a light pull on hat...I also take a pair of fluffy bed socks!! As I can’t bare cold feet...

It’s a great tour have fun and enjoy!

Hello Maria

If you were freezing in September then surely it will be colder in October. If I were you, I would take some warm clothes including gloves and hat or scarf.

Kind regards

Jaya

Hi there. I did the National Parks in October 2018, and doing Canada and New England in October (leave the UK on 4th). National Parks was pretty chilly. Had to buy gloves and a very thick jumper. Ive been advised to take thick clothes, along with things like gloves for Canada (someone on the National Parks did the Canada holiday a few years ago, also around October).

Thanks Cindy. I will definitely pack the gloves. I've got a shorter padded jacket & a few fleeces so will go better prepared this time. I'd sooner be hot than cold haha!

Maria, are you flying from Heathrow on the Canadian airlines flight to Toronto 8.30am on 4th?

That's the one I'm on.

I agree with previous comments. At a similar time in a couple of years ago, the weather on this tour ranged from very wet to very warm. Layers definitely recommended. Also, a good quality waterproof coat or jacket is a must. This is a great tour. Enjoy
