Hi All

Is there anyone else who would like to meet at Premier inn T4 the evening of 5 Nov?

Sue

Hi Sue.

I will be in the Premier Inn on the 5th. My partner is staying overnight and then going off to work early on 6th. However, if you see me in the Premier Inn, please say hello - you can't miss me, I will have a bright coloured bandana on and we are likely to grab at least a drink there. Same applies to anyone else staying there.

Out of interest, have you worked out roughly how many USD we will need per day? I'm totally unsure how much to take with and I would rather have too much than too little.

Am I the only person to be not over the moon going to the spider village (letter from Just You about different itinerary I received today)?

I'm happy to remove spiders from the house but I'm not sure I want to be up close and personal with tarantulas or eat them to be honest.

I'm assuming that there is no alternative if someone does not want to visit the village?

Hi Sue,

Yep, you will still travel to Tonle Sap. You should have recieved a letter detailing your new itinerary and why we have had to make a change. Please let me know if not so we can resend you it.

Many thanks,

Vickie

Hi Vickie

I appreciate that JY have had to change this for very good reasons so am not trying to be critical.  In some ways it will be good to be in one place for 5 nights altho I suspect that we will have some long coach journeys as a result. However a revised itinerary is necessary so that we can understand where we are going in terms of required dress, when the included lunches and dinners are now if that has changed also.

I hope that the itinerary is going to e-mailed not snail mailed!! 😃

I’m not sure how much money is needed for meals and for small souvenirs... has anyone got any idea please?

Cheers

I’m currently in the US. Can you confirm what if any changes have been made to the 5 February 2019 departure. One lunch has already been removed, and changes made to the temple visits in Siem Reap. I’m wondering how many changes constitute grounds for full refund of my deposit if I cancel this trip?

Hi Vickie/Julia

This must rank as the holiday with the most changes and the most posts.  I have had a letter this morning changing the itinerary quite substantially.  The letter refers to an attached itinerary but I only have the letter detailing the changes.

I hope JY are going to issue a revised itinerary before we travel.  A change to one day is one thing but this sounds like quite a major swap around.

Hi All

I haven't written a review of the holiday on 9th Oct with the revised schedule. But I can tell you it was brilliant and a bit less packing/unpacking. The extra days at the Angkor Paradise are excellent and a bit of extra time to enjoy the pool and town (mask sure to get your laundry done at a place just outside the hotel 1kg for $2). The Circus was fantastic and the Living Farm was brilliant...make sure if you're going to help out (ploughing and planting/harvesting rice) not to wear anything that you are precious about as you WILL get dirty.

Hope you have as fantastic a time as we did.

Ian

Hi Vickie

I’m not sure my request for an itinerary was sent.. please can I have one.

Is there a guide about how much money is required for meals on this trip?

Thanks

Hi Sue & Sandra

It vey much depends on personal taste and what you want to buy.  I am doing the add on and taking £500 which sounds a lot but we have 3 lunches and I think around 10 dinners to cover.  I often get caught out with the tips mounting up especially when the drivers and guides keep changing.

No long now and we could really do with a revised itinerary.  I rang Customer Services and they didn't seem to know anything about it and promised to ring me back in an hour - about 3 hours ago!!!!

Hi Sue,

I have friends out there at the moment. I have just messaged and got the reply "Lunch £10 Dinner £15 Tourist prices in reasonable places.....street food...next to nothing"

https://champeyrestaurant.com/menu/

http://www.artisansdangkor.com/  Check out their beliefs & then look at prices. Very good quality.

Street markets are a lot less expensive and a gold Rolex was mine for $15.00!!

Hope that helps.

Hi Sandra,

As the Spider Village is on the way to the next location, you would need to travel to it. However, of course you are more than welcome to stay at the coach if you prefer not to go.

Many thanks,

Vickie

Thanks Ian for the reassurance and recommendations.  The Phnom Penh hotel doesn't mention a pool on their website - is it a proper swimming pool?

That is really useful.  I suspect as is usual it is the drinks that will eat into the money especially if you want your favourite brand.

Thank you Ian

The links worked and are very helpful. I’m a street food / market kind of person! Hopefully there will be others of a like mind on the trip. We had fantastic food on the street in Kota Kinabalu last year and eating with the locals is fascinating... they were all so friendly and the atmosphere as well as the food was great. I’m hoping for similar experiences!

See you Tuesday!

Cheers

Hi Sue, Glad the links were useful & see you Tuesday, and yes, nothing wrong with a bit of mixing with the locals. See you & everyone else on Tuesday. Ian

I can't believe how close this trip is now. Nervous and excited but at the moment don't know which one I am more of!!

I've been trying to compare the changes in the letter we received to the original itinerary and getting abit confused, so hopefully the new itinerary will arrive soon.

Money wise- I have change about £600 to $ , so hopefully that will be enough, otherwise there's the plastic for back up.

Hopefully I'll bump into someone at check in, as I know it's stupid but one of my biggest fears is walking into the lounge in my own.

I suppose I'd better start packing.

See you Tuesday

Looking forward to meeting you all on Tuesday. Happy packing and safe trip to Heathrow.

Thanks Vickie for putting up with all our queries.
