Thanks Sue.

Yes that would be good. I don't know why I worry about it soo much but have a fear that I won't find people.

The last trip I hung around at the check in desk and tagged along with people from there.

Welcome aboard SandraV,

See you in November - which still seems an awfully long way away!

Hi All

It's great to see others coming onto the forum who are going on this trip.

Does anyone else live near Wiltshire? Just a thought for getting to and from heathrow.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all. We'll have a great time. !!!

Hi SueI

No on this occasion I can actually travel on the day of departure and arrival as long as the flight times don't change.

Looking forward to it even tho it is 10 months and 2 holidays away :)

Hi Vickie

It looks to me like the flight times have changed on this trip.  When I booked departure was 14.45 and now the website is showing 11.00 am.  Can you confirm please as this makes a difference to me in that I will now have to travel the previous day and stay overnight.  If this is correct, would it be possible in future for JY to advise when a flight has changed from that shown at booking,  It was only by chance that I spotted this and if I had left it too long I may not have been able to get the extra day off work or coach seat.

Would you also confirm the current position with visa's especially for Vietnam which has changed several times.

Many thanks

Hi Jonah,

Apologies for any confusion. Yes the time for 11am is correct. Any changes to flight information are sent to customers 15 weeks before departure, so you will receive this information in the next few weeks.

Vietnam is visa free for single entry until 2020.

I hope that helps 🙂

Thanks,

Vickie

Thanks Vickie

I believe that visas for Cambodia and Laos can be obtained on arrival - is that correct?

Hi Jonah,

Yep, that's correct 🙂

Hi Vickie

How much do the entry visas cost on arrival in Cambodia and in Laos? And in which currency is it acceptable to pay?

Cheers

Hi Sue,

Tourist visas are available on arrival at the Phnom Penh or Siem Reap international airports, for $30. If you wish to get a visa on arrival you should arrive with a passport photograph. You can also get an eVisa online before you travel.

Thanks,

Vickie

Hi Vickie & fellow travellers

I am getting excited about this now - only 16 weeks to go.  How scary is that as that will be Bonfire night over!!.  How many are now booked on this trip and how many are doing the add on?  I want our own boat for the Halong trip!!

I am staying at the new PI at Terminal 4 if anyone wants to meet up the night before.

Many thanks

Hi Vickie

Do you have an answer for me?.  How many on this trip and how many doing the add on?

Also has a TM been appointed yet?

Many thanks

Vickie

Hi Jonah,

Sure, there are 18 people booked on, and 9 doing the add-on.

Your TM will be Jacqueline O'Donoghue.

Thanks,

Vickie

Hi Jonah & fellow travellers,

Looks like a nice sized group. A JY pal did this in March and said this is a great trip.

Senior moment here as on checking I must have been on auto-pilot as I booked my usual haunt - the PI on the Bath Road. I did the cheap no amendment deal but I'm only a short hoppa ride away from T4!!

Difficult to think about LHR in November in this weather but am treating it as acclimatisation for SE Asia.

Happy for Vickie to pass on my e-mail to anyone on the trip who, now we are getting closer to departure, wants to chat off forum.

Vickie - e-mail - ********

Hi

The Halong trip - is that the additional excursion? (Halong Bay Cruise)

I revieved the 15 weeks to go info email today and it's the first I knew about this day trip, but definitely considering it. Just wonder what day it is and therefore what we don't do.

Hi Paula,

The trip Jonah is referring to is the Halong Bay trip shown as the optional excursion.

I did this some years ago. It is a full day and the journey as the crow flies from Hanoi is not too far but Vietnamese roads are not quite up to UK motorway standards so there is a bit of a ride to the bay itself!

I guess if you don't go you get the day to yourself but there is no shortage of things to do and see if you don't opt in.

I've done it before & I'll be doing it again! You travel in an old style junk & enjoy the day enjoying the views from the top deck- the lunch as I recall is rather good as well.

See you in November.

Ian
