There is an overnight stay on board a wooden Junk on Xmas Eve. We stay at the same hotel before and after the boat trip. Will I have my suitcase with me on the junk or will I need an overnight bag?

You won't need an overnight bag for this part of the trip as you will be taking your suitcases onboard.
