Hi Olly.

should I lock my suitcase when travelling to america?

In your Guide to flying brochure, you mention there are special locks available. What are they like, are they in the form of straps or pad locks?

Cheers George

Hi George

I have used the padlock variety on occasion but generally I don't bother with them. If airport staff need to open your bag they may have to damage your luggage to do so.

But if you want to improve your security, they can be a sensible idea.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor
