Having really enjoyed my last JY holiday experience, I'm giving serious consideration to making this my next trip. I'm looking at going on the 1st October 2012 and would really value the thoughts or comments from anyone who has already been on this holiday or similar.

I note the trip includes visits to several big cities which I'm sure will have a lot of interest but I also like to see plenty of countryside and hopefully some interesting and beautiful scenary.

Hope someone on the forum can help me with my decision.

5 years ago my very 1st JY tour was to Boston,New England,New York. WHAT a fantastic tour. Canada was not part of the tour then. I went Late Sept we were a little early for the fall, Even so the trees were amazing and we saw the start of the changes. I stayed at the Wellington in NY Older hotel but ideally placed for going for a wander on your own. I got tickets to a stage show at reduced prices which was a bonus. I also did helo flight over statue of liberty WELL WORTH IT. I went to the Empire state with a couple of others and not the main group as I wanted to spend a bit of time having a walk around. New England is just so pretty lots to take pictures of and the history. Boston really nice as well, lots of history and photo oppertunitys, Harvard is a whistle stop visit but enough for what you need to see. Lots of history at Cape Cod and Plymouth Founding Fathers etc. I love USA old history !! so I enjoyed this tour very much. If there is anything else I can help with just ask, I know its not exactley that same trip but very similar. You will have fun.

Hi Mike, it's a trip I want to do as well over the next couple of years, sounds fantastic especially now JY have extended it to include eastern Canada. Just one thing, it would be worth checking that the Statue of Liberty has re-opened by then - it closed this autumn for a year for renovations. It would be a pity to go all that way and not be able to climb it!

Cheers,

Bob

PS I'm still getting great enjoyment from looking through all the photos of our South Africa trip - someone I know is just back from a holiday there and didn't see lions or a leopard in Kruger, so we were very lucky!
