Hi - I've taken the plunge and booked my first solo break. I've always wanted to visit Versailles and here I go! I have no idea why I feel so nervous. Is anyone else booked on this trip? Looking forward to saying hello and hearing experiences of other people's first trips pls. HNY! 🙂

Hi Josey- Happy 2025 and hope you enjoy your solo travel. I did this trip with JY in July and absolutely loved it. My first time on Eurostar and advised beforehand to upgrade and glad I did. There were 25 women and 1 man in our group - but we all enjoyed and intermingled well. Its a very well practised itinerary from a well located and beautiful hotel in a lovley small town. All the excursions were great and well timed but greatest praise has to go to our tour manager Tessa who was a gem. She'd lived in Paris previously so was bilingual and we had so much more info from her because of her 'local' knowledge. She also was astute enough to gauge the group well and altered the itinerary to us especially the dining options . As ever with JY tours- its 'snatches and patches' of places and so at least you can revisist for a deeper flavour of places at another time. Paris was busy on the pre Olympic run up but for me that added to the experience. Loved Versailles and Giverny and all the landscapes ( and history ) in between on the travels to both. All in all a really great trip just one wish that it could have been longer-5 nights would be perfect.
