Hi Julia, Am just back from the Historic East trip and looking at my next holiday - I'm thinking of doing the Heart & Soul trip on November 2nd, but could you give an idea of the expected flight timings please? I'm assuming the flight out to Chicago is non-stop, but what about the return flight from New Orleans?

Also how many people have booked so far, M/F etc and is it cleared to operate?

Am also interested in the Pompeii trip, but not so much with an outward flight of 6.40am from Gatwick - there seems to be the option to go from Stansted, what time is the outward flight for this option?

Could you also give the expected flight timings for the Mysteries of Mexico, Guatemala & Belize trip starting next year please and what is the carrier?

(I know all these timings are provisional.)

Thanks

Katy

Hi Katy,

So for the America's Heart & Soul - Chicago to New Orleans trip, the provisional flight times are listed as depart London 09:55hrs, arrive London 11:30hrs. You are correct in that the flight to Chicago is direct. The return journey is currently listed as flying via Dallas. In terms of numbers for this holiday, there are currently 17 travellers booked 4 men and 13 women with ages from early-30s to mid-70s. This tour has been cleared to operate.

For the Pompeii trip, flying from Stansted, the flight time is currently listed as departing at 06:10 on a number of the departures - if you have a specific date in mind, please let me know and I will double check this for you.

I have just looked at the first date for the Mysteries of Mexico, Guatemala & Belize trip and this is listed as departing Gatwick 10:55hrs with British Airways.

As always I must stress, that with all flight information provided above, these are provisional, subject to change and final details would be provided in your final documents.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hello Katy,

Several of us on Community were on the Heart and Soul last November. Originally we were leaving in the morning then it was changed to the afternoon. This made us arrive late to our hotel that evening. Most went to bed, the more hardier went out to a local club.

We came back from New Orleans via Miami. On the trip out to Chicago, not sure what went wrong, the earlier flight was delayed and they only arrived 1/2 hour before we did :P

Thanks Jan, I like the look of this trip and everyone seems to have good things to say about it. Because my most recent trip (Historic East) was a real pain with the outbound flights am procrastinating and trying to find something less likely to go wrong.

Jan,

Think the morning flight which had the travelsphere group on made an emergency landing in Iceland due to a passenger been taken ill I believe. Can happen on any flight of course.

Using that great skill "hindsight" i'm pleased we were not on that flight although i was a little aggrieved we played 2nd class citizens to the travelsphere group (especially as we pay more for our holiday per person). Imagine what time we would have arrived if our flight was the one with the delay.
