Hi All,

Following on from Julia's advise i am setting up a new thread with regards to Montenegro and to drum up the support to persuade the JY guys to consider this as a future destination.

There are several reasons why i think this should be considered. The first is since the Former Yugoslavia split up it has become a hot bed for tourism. The new Croatian Tour has almost sold out and the Istrian Coast tour gets almost universally positive feedback. JY are also introducing a new Slovenian Tour which will be in the upcoming brochure which apparently mirrors the Lake Bled Trip which also sold out.

Travelsphere offers Montenegro as a destination and has done in varying forms for several years and i believe its quite popular. Becici, Budva, Podgorica and Perast are popular destinations, all within vicinity of each other and furthermore, Maceodia lies neatly next to Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina, providing an ideal opportunity to visit 3 differenet countries.

Anyone that would like to visit this area please post your suggestions and ideas and see what the JY boffins say:cool:

Thanks

Mark

I'm TOTALLY with you on this one Mark. It's a part of the former Yugoslavia that I never had the opportunity to visit.

Hi Mark,

I think the current Travelsphere holiday which covers Montenegro and Dubrovnik sounds brilliant - it also has day trips to Mostar (Bosnia/Herzegovina) and Albania, so that's four countries in a week! I'd love for JY to do it as well. I'd be planning on doing this hol in a couple of years, the same year as I'd hopefully do New Zealand and the Cook Islands as that holiday combination would work well for me - one long hol and one short one! So let's see who else agrees and hopefully it will happen - if not in 2014 perhaps in 2015!

Cheers,

Bob

Sounds great - I am all for it though not sure when I will be able to go as my list of destinations to visit grows longer and longer! If only I could win a big lottery so I can have 4-5 holidays a year!!

I would be very interested in a Montenegro holiday. I understand it has some of the best beaches in Europe, so would love a beach based hotel with a few trips either included or optional. Also the food is supposed to be wonderful. It would be great to experience Montenegro before it gets over commercialised, which is suspect will be very soon.

Hi guys

At the moment we are working on our new offering in the north of the former Yugoslav countries, Slovenia.

We've listened to your views aired on the forum where Slovenia has been mentioned on several occasions by Just You customers and will soon be proud to introduce this beautiful destination of contrasts to the portfolio. Inspiring landscapes of mountains, lakes, and a beautiful 14 mile stretch of coast with a distinctly Mediterranean feel will greet you.

Montenegro also has much to offer and as has been mentioned can link up well with other former Yugoslav states such as Croatia as we do on our Travelsphere tour, Croatia, Montenegro & Albania.

We have previously offered Montenegro to Just You back in 2009 although at that time the prices we a little higher than some of our other popular areas and the demand was not as high as other areas.

We will certainly look into Montenegro for the future for Just You.

I would like to canvas the forums opinion further on linking the destination with southern Croatia with a stay in Dubrovnik?

Hi Will,

Thank you for your post. It is so positive to know our posts are being read by the powers that be.

I am soo looking forward to your Slovenia tour- how long am i going to have to wait for it to be online?

With regards to your suggestion about linking destinations to the south of Croatia, i think it's a fantastic idea. Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina are both close by and if it gives us the opportunity to explore these countries, go for it. Being in the south, you could incorporate an island cruise around one of croatia's biggest islands?

Thanks for listening, Will!

As you asked so nicely, MarkS...

Yes, I would definitely be interested in Montenegro - maybe a two-centre holiday - a city and a beach area?

Please not a trip with lots of coach travel and just one night in each location!

I visited Slovenia when it was part of Yugoslavia, it would be interesting to see how it has changed in the past 30 years!

I may have mentioned this before re Slovenia but there is the opportunity also to go over the border into the Austrian Lake District which is absolutely beautiful. I am hoping it is a centered holiday as I am not a great one for loads of coach travel from hotel to hotel.

Keeping my fingers crossed on Montenegro!!
