Hi John

My name is Lynne and I will be the Tour Manager on this tour. I look forward to meeting you at Heathrow.

As for money, the best currency to take is US dollars. You can change some $ or £ into VND in Hanoi at the first hotel should you wish to. You can also use credit cards in most of the hotels too.

If there is anything else you need to know, please ask, if not I look forward to seeing you soon.

Hi John

Hopefully I will see you and most of the group at the check in. This usually works quite well and I meet most of the group before we get to the plane.

I love taking this tour and I am sure you will have a great time. If you have any other questions please ask away and if not, I look forward to seeing you soon.

Happy packing

Lynne

Hi Lynne,

I am also on this tour and the Cambodia add on departing on 26th February. I look forward to meeting you at check in or before departure. I do not have any VND as they were quite tricky to get hold of from where I live. I have some US dollars in cash. I also have loaded up a US dollars cash passport card which I can use at ATMs though I'm told this can be quite expensive as the exchange rate is not good. I will also be taking a visa debit card. I'd be grateful if you could let me know which would be best to use. I'm assuming also that weight limit is 20kg for hold luggage and 5kg for hand luggage as we have internal flights. Is this correct?

Anyway ... Roll on next Wednesday... Jan

Hi Jan

The best currency to take is US dollars and you can easily change some into VND at the first hotel we stay in in HaNoi. You can use dollars throughout Vietnam and Cambodia on the whole, although you may prefer to get some VND when we get there. I don't know very much about exchange rates for your cash card I'm afraid, but there are ATMs around if you need them. Visa debit is fine for use too.

As for luggage it is 20kg on the internal flights, but 30kg on the long haul, so you have the extra for shopping in Cambodia! They generally don't weigh hand luggage in my experience (although never say never!) so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Hope this helps, if not please get back to me and I look forward to meeting soon, Jan.

Hi Lynne, I,n a little confused about the luggage allowances, I have not recieved any details of the internal flights, so I was assuming that the allowance would be the same as the long haul from Heathrow , which company are the internal flights operated by ?.

20kg seems low for a holiday of this length.

Jan, I was going to get a card for US dollars, but was told it costs $2.5 every time you use it. See you next Wednesday .

HI John

We don't get any information on the internal flights until we are in Vietnam, the local agent takes care of this. Usually we fly with Vietnam Airlines and also Angkor Air if you're doing the add on to Cambodia. It is usual for internal flights to be 20kg, whilst they allow 30kg on the long haul part. I usually manage to be under the 20kg without a problem and I can advise whilst we're there about getting some washing done mid way through the tour if that helps.

Not long now!

See you soon

Hello,

I am going on this tour - my first with Just You and on my own. I am getting excited but a bit nervous too, which I guess is not unreasonable. My main worry is how to meet others at Heathrow T4 but I am hoping that Lynne will be looking out for us all.

Only a few days to go now! I am delighted that this tour was chosen as the number one "dream destination" by the JY online community - a good first choice! I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

I have not long been home from my first JY adventure, to Vietnam & Cambodia, and I now feel compelled to let everyone know what an amazing experience it was, probably like most people who chose a singles holiday, I was nervous and apprehensive , but all that soon changed when I met up with everyone at a Heathrow, I soon felt relaxed, Vietnam is an amazing country to visit, and Lynne the tour manager, made sure we all saw and did as much as we possible could during our stay, every day was packed with new sights to see, from temples and museums, to religious sights, and Vietcong underground tunnels, Lynne even arranged a visit to a citadel where Buddhist nuns made our lunch, how many holidays can you do that ??.

Every thing was so well organised , the hotels were all of an excellent high standard, I particularly enjoyed the food everywhere we went, as a non sea food eater, Lynne made sure that I had alternative meals every day, we even did a cookery lesson at a local restaurant , where we were shown how to prepare and cook a typical Vietnamese meal, such a great laugh , and the food was good too,,,,,,

We then went onto Cambodia and the activities continued, lots to see and do, again the food and standard of hotels, was excellent, If I had to make a criticism , it would be that the whole holiday should be a few days longer and allow more free time , we were staying in some lovely hotels, but because there was so much to see and do, the days could be tiring, and it would have been nice to have had some more free time.

I could write here for days, telling how fantastic the holiday, but the best advice I could give anyone is.

Don't just look at it, BOOK IT !!!. You will not regret it, I don't, and I,m now looking at where my next JY holiday will take me.

I,m happy to answer any questions anyone may have on this trip.
