You are really "on your own" until you get to the departure airport.  Unless of course you have someone to travel with you, or take you to the airport.  From there on you will have as much or as little company as you wish.

Fellow travellers are there for the same reason you are - it is somewhere they want to visit.  Whether it is for the sights, architecture, history, food, culture, you have that in common at check-in.

I am so glad that I didn't call off that first holiday to France which was in May,  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  The age range, which was from about mid 30's to 80 really didn't matter.  I have two holidays booked this year - one of them with JY.

In my limited experience tour managers have been fantastic.  The second hotel was far and away better than the first, but the first was good.

Organisation from departure airport - resort(s) - return airport is smooth.  Everything is done for you.  

All you have to do is choose - read any reviews on the forum that you can find - book - pay - turn up - ENJOY!!

You certainly have picked a great destination for your first Just You trip. I did the Andalucia trip in September 2010 and can confirm that this is a great trip. Mijas is beautiful. You are in for a treat. I would say just go and enjoy every minute of it.

I found JY and other singles holiday companies through an internet search and booked my first holiday with JY. Why I chose JY - I don't really know. Perhaps it was the choice of holidays, no single supplement, connection from my local airport, it just felt right.

To me it was a heartening and warming experience to witness twenty five lovely people come together with no other agenda than to have a great time together and it ended up being one of the happiest and most life-affirming weeks I have ever had. And after a difficult year it convinced me that there is a world out there, a life to be lived and that being single has plenty going for it.

Message really made me feel more courageous: I too lost my husband nearly 2 years and, although I had travelled quite a bit when I was young...Woodstock in '69!.. I've pondered quite a bit. BUT there's good opportunities out there and the staff were very helpful. All being well - and dog looked after - I'm thinking of going to Apulia in September. Has anyone any thoughts or advice?
