Is anyone else going on this trip 27th June? I've had holidays in the sun on my own before but been bored by about day 3 so I'm hoping this will be more interesting. I've now got 5 months to save up, sort out car parking, travel insurance, visa etc (am I missing anything?). Any tips welcome.

I did this trip June last year for my first JY holiday and loved it. Like you I've travelled on my own previously and get bored with sun/beach holidays.

On this holiday something is happening every day, even the long coach journeys are filled with interesting stops such as Carmel, Monterrey,17 mile drive, santa barbara, Long beach, Calico (ghost town), etc.

Expect a few early mornings and not much time to yourself but its well worth it to see and experience what you do.

Universal studios was a highlight for me we had 7 to 8 ours there and it wasn't enough but to be honest there were so many highlights.

As we went same time of year the tempreture in SF was cool needed a coat/fleece on a night but it gets a lot hotter after that.

Have a great time

Hi Alan,

I'm going on the trip in September.

Just You can do the ESTA for you at an additioanl cost of £24.00, or you can do it yourself OnLine. As forTravel Insurance, I take use the Just You insurance too. The Customer services team are very helpful, if you want to talk to them.

I find it best to stay overnight at a hotel near the airport (depending on time of day the flight is). Have a good time, I did on my first time with Just You last year.

Hi, I've just booked this holiday too for the 27th June. I booked online so have no idea how many other people are on this trip - Anyone else going?

This will be my first trip like this on my own as well, I've just done the European beachy type ones before (which were very good but just fancied a bit more adventure)

I've just got the balance, insurance & ESTA to sort to. Airport parking sorted.

Really looking forward this now that I've finally decided what trip to do and booked it !!!

Hi Alan

I was thinking about going to Malta to begin with as my first alone holiday but then saw the itinery for America's Golden Western and think I am going to be booking for the 27 June 2011 too!

It looks like a fab holiday!
