That will trigger the ABTA and ATOL rules to immediately cancel upcoming holidays and issue a refund. Airlines will now refund tickets to China, and for non-ABTA/ATOL-booked holidays that will trigger travel insurance clauses for a payout that way as well if all else fails.

I'm not due to go to China again until May 2021. The virus will have burnt itself out long before then but I imagine it's going to take weeks for it to take its course - as there's no chance that they will be able to contain it now; it's spread too far and wide already.

As someone that has booked the Inspirational China holiday, I don't find your response to be particularly reassuring. The latest news is that Beijing and Shanghai has been placed on the highest level of alert and that sections of the Great Wall of China has been closed, all of which are included in this holiday. Whilst the World Health Organisation has stopped short of declaring the epidemic of international concern, it has declared the Coronavirus an emergency for China. Although my own trip to China is not until June I am still concerned and would be more so if my holiday was imminent.
Hi Langtoftlad

We are guided by information we receive from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office along with ABTA. Our Operations Team is monitoring the situation closely and if we need to make changes to any of our tours we will. At this stage we will not go into our contingency plans as I am sure you can appreciate the situation continues to evolve.

As with all of our tours, the safety of our customers and our Tour Managers is of paramount importance.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Does Travelsphere/JustYou have contingency plans if this Coronavirus outbreak spreads - especially in the Far East, specifically Vietnam - and what might they include?

Did you take any special measures during the SARS outbreak in 2002/03 ?
