Hi Binkie,

I have booked this for May 2018.  The new hotel gets great reviews.

Sylvia

Hi Binkie,

Some time ago, we offered some of our tours as “make your own way” however there were some issues which impacted on the overall holiday itinerary for the entire group.

We are aware that we have a number of travellers from overseas and are always looking at ways to make our holidays more accessible to them. As such, we are trialling this “make your own way” with travellers from Canada and if it is a success, we’ll look to roll it out to other travellers around the world.

Kindest Regards,

Amy

Hi Amy

You initially told me that I would join the tour at the hotel for either Highlights of Tuscany or Flavours of Tuscany as I live in France and can join the tour at the destination (the same would go for the lady who lives in Nice).  In a later message to another traveller you mentioned that all passengers have to join the tour in the UK unless they are coming from Canada? That seems rather unusual, why only people from Canada? We Brits living in Europe would also welcome the opportunity to organize our own flights (why pay to fly to the UK, from UK to tour destination plus overnight stays at airports) and in any case we also organize our own insurance covering the flights and tour. I have done this several times, not only with specialized agencies based in the UK (dance holidays etc), but also with Thomsons and other companies with no problem. Perhaps this is something that can be clarified since I hesitate to make a booking at the moment after having read so many confusing details on this site.

Thank you for your assistance.

A bit of confusion all round. I have joined many tours with various companies on a tour only basis because I live overseas and agree with Stella that it is a waste of time and extra flights if we could join on a "land only basis" and be able to join our fellow Brits on a wonderful JustYou holiday. Perhaps this is something that may be possible in the future.
Good Morning Paul,

Sorry, I was too hasty in my response.

But to clarify, the Hotel Settebello in Marina di Cecina is the hotel that we will be using for 2017, and the Hotel Tamerice & Principe in Montecatini Terme will be used for 2018.

Kindest Regards,

Amy

Amy

I appreciate the fact that the hotel will appear on my final documents but in your reply to Binkie at 0830am on 10/10/17 you said that Hotel Settebello will be used in 2017 and 2018.

Dear Amy

Point of clarification please.

I was told that "for insurance reasons" JY insists that clients join the holidays at the start point in the UK.  From this thread it would appear that this is NOT the case. Is this a new policy?  Does join the group at the hotel reduce the overall price?

I live in France (Nice)  and last Sunday returning from my Cilento holiday I had the joy of spending the entire day flying back from Naples to Gatwick and then from Gatwick back to Nice.  The pilot actually announced that we were flying over Nice at one point.  There were convenient direct flights from Naples to Nice on both the outgoing and returning dates.

Regards

Stella.

Hi Stella,

The policy has not changed and you will still need to join the holiday in the UK.

Kind Regards

Amy

I am disappointed that  "overseas" travellers are able to join tours at the destination, while where flights are available, I am not able to fly from my local airport (Stansted) , on the same terms, but am required to fly from either Gatwick or Heathrow  thus incurring considerable additional expense and inconvenience. When I first travelled with JY a good selection of European tours offered flights from Stansted. The numbers have now dwindled to to just one or two!

Hi SarahS,

In terms of overseas travellers, you may have seen a recent post from Julia stating that they are trialling a programme (on selected tours) where customers from Canada are able to join the group in resort. This is still early days but all other travellers currently still need to join the main group - either flying from London or their regional airport.

I'm sorry that the number of tours departing from your local airport have fallen, I can assure you that we are always looking at opportunities for travellers to fly from their local airport, and have added these when they are available.

Kind Regards,

Amy

Hi Amy

Just to add to the confusion I booked Highlights of Tuscany trip for 10th May 2018 on the understanding that hotel in Montecatini was being used. Also my confirmation documents show Grand Hotel Tamerici has this now changed back to the previous hotel. The website itinery does still show on day 7 optional trip tp Lucca or explore your resort at Marina. Could you please clarify.

Many thanks Paul

Good Afternoon Paul N,

The reason as to why a different hotel might be showing on the website is because it is currently showing as the 2017 itinerary.

All hotels will be included in your final documentation.

Kindest Regards,

Amy

Good Morning Binkie,

As I mentioned before, your tour for Flavours of Tuscany will start at the Hotel Settebello in Marina di Cecina in 2017, and in 2018 this will change to an alternative hotel (Hotel Tamerice & Principe in Montecatini Terme).

For the Highlights of Tuscany tour, you will be staying at the Hotel Settebello in Marini di Cecina for both 2017 and 2018.

I hope this helps.

Kindest Regards,

Amy

Hi Amy

Unfortunately the website is causing a lot of confusion as I have just got my weekly justyou email regarding Italy holidays. When I click through to the site from the email it is showing the incorrect details for The Highlights of Tuscany holiday. Hotel Settebello is not being used it is Grand Hotel Tamerici because I have booked for May 2018. Also Elba is not being visited and itinerary on day 7 shows Lucca or free time in Marina di cecina. Could the website be corrected as possible travellers such as Binkie will not be able to make an informed choice if details are wrong. Many thanks Paul
