Hi I am booked on Canada and new England trip in September. After missing out on a lion king theatre trip with friends I would love to fit a trip in New York .I have noted that we will only have day 11 and 12 to do this as we fly home day 13 and 14. Do you think I will be able to fit a theatre trip in and what day do you think best. Many thanks for your time Shelly 1

Hi Shelly,if you look at www.playbill.com it tells you what shows are on and when, or are coming soon. The site lists any discounts on the shows and allows you to prebook, the TKTS booth only sells tickets for performances on the same day and does not give you a choice of seat/price,it is take it or leave it.The queue at TKTS can be long and depends on the weather as to how comfortable it is standing in the queue. The Lion King has been on Broadway for sometime,so discounts should be available. If you sign up to Playbill's newsletter, they email lots of offers for tickets.Unlike the UK,most theatres give you a free programme, most in NYC have the Playbill banner on the front.

Hi Julie L

At the minute there are 7 on you booked on this date, as we are still in January, I would imagine more travellers to book over the next few months.

The Tour Manager for this trip has not been allocated (although at the moment no tour managers for September have been allocated yet).

Many thanks for al the help and information. FROM Shelly 1
Hi Shelly,

A lot of the theatres are closed on a Monday, and Lion King is one of them as we wanted to go and see that when we were there recently.

Hope that's of use to you

Best wishes

Last time when I was in NY with JY, I queued up for cheap tickets and got to see beauty and the beast with Donny Osmond in it fantastic....

I am doing this tour in September but with the add on so I have more time to do things like this, if you look on the review board there is a good report on this tour...do take on board I think there is one night where the shows are not on, but I might be wrong. I hope you get to see a show.

Hi Shelly1,

My colleague in overseas services has provided me with a bit more information about the day-by-day itinerary for this trip.

The group arrive into NY and that evening we offer a New York by Night optional excursion if they wish to partake

. Their 2nd day in NY includes a morning tour of NY, followed by a free afternoon. They can choose to do a helicopter ride as an optional excursion in the afternoon. This evening they have an included farewell drink.

The last day in NY & departure day back to the UK, they either have free time until the transfer to the airport, or they can do a Circle cruise optional excursion before transferring to the airport.

It is entirely your decision as to whether or not you would like to join in any of the excursions mentioned above whilst in NYC or fit in your theatre trip. I'm sure one of our members who has taken this trip (or who is booked on the same date) will share their thoughts with you.

Kindest regards,

Julia
