Hello sandy

I think I might of posted on another thread with your name on..

I went on this tour couple years ago, and YES I DID take malaria tabs at the recommendation of my doctors and had a few jabs. I only had to pay for the yellow fever jab and the prescription of malarone tabs which I ordered of the Internet much cheaper, you need the tablets for all the time your there and if my memory serves me well 3days before you go and perhaps a week or so when you come back....the cost is per tablet.

I have no idea of the risk of catching this disease to be honest I was not bitten at all on the safari part, but I was bitten to death on the 2nd part, even with the nets over the bed, deet sprays and wipes and the hotels spray the rooms...I think they either like your blood or not. Even so the bites were well worth it...

If you need the web addresss for the tablets let me know, and I will find the information... All the people on the tour were on malarone apart from 1 lady..only 1 person suffered from dizziness.

Cindy.

Thanks for that Cindy. My first postings so your other must have been another username. Appreciate the information. x.

Hi Sandy107,

Unfortunately we can only advise that you seek medical advice from your GP who will have the most up-to-date information on the risks of Malaria.

Have you thought about posting in the "Say hello to other single travellers section" of the forum. If there are members of the community who have taken this tour in the past - I'm sure they will share their knowledge with you as well as any additional hints and tips they may have.

Kindest regards

Julia

But would apreciate knowledge from previous trips. What else do I need to know?
