Hi Olly,

I'm going on the South African Explorer trip on the 26th October. Not long now, only 7 days. I'm excited and a bit nervous too as this is my first solo holiday. Can you tell me what the routine at the airport is likely to be, what's the best way to meet up with other Just You people?

Many thanks,

Kindest regards

Gillian

Hi Gillian,

I came back from this holiday a week ago and you are in for a real treat.

When I originally arrived at Heathrow (my first singles holiday also) I was a little earlier than the 3 hours before check in and could not see anyone from JY, however I found the check in for South African Airways quite easily and booked in all by myself.

I then went to passport control and after that just followed the signs for the executive lounge. It was a bit daunting going in on my own but within a few minutes I was joined by fellow travellers all recognisable by our JY luggage labels which we had on our hand luggage.

Within a short time a group of us had gathered together and were all chatting away before our Tour Manager finally arrived. We then joned up with more of the group and had an impromptu welcome meeting.

Everyone was so friendly and you soon forget you are a single traveller.

The Tour Manager was great and I'm sure yours will look after you so don't worry just enjoy a truely memorable holiday.

Hope this helps.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. Well it's 11pm and I'm finally packed and sorted out for my holiday tomorrow! I'm so excited and a bit nervous too so probably won't sleep much tonight. Your information is very reassuring so very many thanks.

Kind regards

Gillian

Hi Gillian

Your tour manager Tam Pollard will be at Heathrow check-in to meet you and help get your bags checked in. Then you will pass through airport security and meet the rest of the group in the comfort of the executive lounge, where you can help yourself to drinks, snacks, newspapers and so on.

Have a lovely trip.

Kind regards,
