Hi Anthony

You will need Japanese Yen for your day to day expenses.

You will receive confirmed prices for excursions two weeks before you travel but - as a guide - here are the prices from a recent departure of this holiday:

Tokyo

Mount Fuji

A full day visit to the iconic Mount Fuji, Japan’s most famous landmark. Drive along the expressway from Tokyo to Fuji and the 5th Station, halfway up the mountain. Take a boat cruise on Lake Hakone and cable-car ride up Mt. Komagatake with views over the volcanic Hakone mountains. A stop will also be made at Owakudani Biolin Valley. Lunch included.

Price: ¥14,000 per person (Payment must be in Yen cash only) (£145.00)

Kyoto

Hiroshima

This tour includes a round trip on the Bullet Train. Visit the Peace Park with A-Bomb Dome in Hiroshima and the Memorial Museum. Also visit the Itrukushima shrine on Miyajima Island. Lunch is not included.

Price: ¥36,800 per person (Payment must be by credit card only) (£280.00)

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

What sort of currency do you recommend taking to Japan? Travellers cheques or cash? Yen, US dollars or just sterling?

Also, how much do I need to take for the optional excursions on the tour?

Thanks.
