If you are a British citizen and have a new 10-year machine-readable passport (it sounds like you do have one) you won't need a visa, as you will be eligible for the 'visa waiver programme'.

However, you will definitely need to fill in an ESTA form online at least 72 hours before departure.

The ESTA system costs nothing to use and is valid for two years, so if you visit the US again within that period you won't have to fill it in twice.

i am travelling to USA. svcwh. 5th may.

do i need a visa? i have a new passport, it has a micro chip.is this enough?

if i need to apply for a visa how much do they cost?and is the only way to apply online?
