Thanks for getting in touch. As rates are changing all the time we would recommend using a combination of both cash and card while travelling and your Holiday Director will point you in the right direction of the best places to take out cash/exchange currency during the tour. I know you can't get rupees until arrival but is it best to take cash to exchange or to get it from an ATM with a card? 

I imagine you can pay with a card in many places but that cash will still be needed for tips, markets etc.

Any advice gratefully received.
