Thanks Dave, for all the information. I'm looking forward to the experience. Not too long to wait now.

Hi Jean, I did this tour in Feb 2013 and loved every minute of it! Vietnam is a fantastic country and you will see the best of it on this tour. It is action packed, but not exhausting and the food is terrific. Have a brilliant time!

All the best,

Bob

Thanks Bob, looking forward to it!

Hi Julia,

I agree with what Dina said - the climate in Vietnam varies tremendously from north to south. To give a different perspective I went in February, when it was cool (around 12-15C) in Hanoi and showery, mild but foggy in Halong Bay (I understand it is like this most of the year there), hot and sunny in Hue and Hoi An and hot and humid in Ho Chi Minh. I did the Cambodia add-on and it was hot in Phnom Penh and humid at the temples in Siem Reap. Overall it was a good time to go and I'm very glad I did the Cambodia add-on, it was the icing on the cake!

I hope you book this tour, of the 11 I've done with JY it remains one of my favourites.

Best wishes,

Bob

Thank you so much for replying to my post. It is very much appreciated. Best wishes, Julia H
Hi Julia

You are quite right about the weather in Vietnam, it does vary from area to area. I was on the same trip as Dave. It is certainly cooler in the north in Hanoi and much hotter in the south Ho Chi Minh city. November was the coolest time, if you could call it that to visit these two areas, according to our guide book. BUT it was the worst time of the year to visit the central area i.e Hue and Hoi An because it was the wettest time there. They have typhoons ranging from minor to mega, landslides and floods. So Dave and our other friends before we went were joking about taking dinghies, inflatable armbands and rubber ducks etc etc. However, although it did rain and heavily at times it was always overnight, whilst we were on a coach or in a reataurant. Didn't bother us!

Super holiday. My highlights were Halong Bay, Hoi An and the cycle ride. I was dubious about the cycle ride because I am not the fittest person in the world but it was easy didn't actually cycle far, lots of photo stops, rode mainly on paths through paddy fields. Much fun when some of the group decided they wanted to ride on a waterbuffalo.

Happy travelling and kind regards Di

Hi Dave

Thank you for posting about your trip to Vietnam. I am considering going on the November '16 tour and possibly adding on Cambodia. If I have read your post correctly it looks like you visited Vietnam in November '15. What was the weather like? I have been looking on line but from what I have read it seems the weather depends on which part of Vietnam you are in, so while it may be nice in some parts during November it could be raining in other parts. I thought I would take the easy route and ask someone who has been there at this time of year. Hope you don't mind me asking.

Thanks and best wishes,

Julia H

Hi there

I am hoping to book a trip to Vietnam and possibly add on Cambodia. Could anyone who has been on this tour at November time give me an idea on what the weather would be like.

Thank you.
