Hi all

I would be very interested in skiing, depending on location and cost. I have been to quite a few European resorts but particularly enjoyed Italy for the price and pasta.

More years ago than I like to remember Just You followed on from Travelsphere solos and I went skiing with them / you in Italy. I booked again the following year but it was cancelled due to lack of numbers. I have had 15 ski holidays over the years with family / friends / a rival solos holiday company. Ski holidays are well suited to a group of solo travellers and I've had some excellent times and would really love to go again. Unfortunately I can't as on the 16th holiday I got caught up with another skier getting off a chairlift and broke my wrist resulting in an operation that evening and a 6,000 or so euros bill for my insurer. I had to reluctantly accept that in my mid 50's I don't bounce like I used to and it was time to call a halt (against medical advice as my GP said I should continue!)

I don't wish to reignite the age issue, but the typical age of JY customers is somewhat older than the average skier. I hope you do try a ski trip to see how bookings go as they are marvellous holidays, but suggest you don't overestimate the demand. And if I try to book, don't accept my booking - I really shouldn't …………..

What Sookie says sounds fantastic. Would not mind having a 'snowy' holiday without skiing.

Cindy - at least you can ice skate - I could not even do that! Perhaps if I had tried when I was younger or a child, then I would have succeeded as you do not have as much fear when you are younger.

I am with Sookie :P

My eldest daughter broke 2 ribs skiing, then spent the rest of the week in various restaurants drinking hot chocolate and the most amazing tan whilst waiting for the rest of her group learning to ski

I hate the snow, so no way would I go skiing, but good for those who do like the slopes and another holiday

destination can only be good for JY.

NOW I like the sound of that!!! Now that would appeal.....just as long as I don't have to walk around looking like blimp in winter Gear !!!!!

Hi Will, wouldn't want to try skiing again, tried years ago and I'm just not brave enough (or flexible enough) 🙂. HOWEVER, the idea of a snowy holiday in the mountains would appeal! Although I didn't take to skiing, the amazing chair lifts to the top of the world, the horse drawn sleigh rides with cosy fur rugs and complementary schnapps, sitting in a mountain-top cafe in the warm sun admiring the scenery as the skiers fly by, outdoor hotpools, a glass of gluhwein before walking half way up a mountain for a musical evening in a mountain shack as well as warm friendly party nights do appeal!! Perhaps it would be possible to offer a holiday where people could experience a snowy holiday and pay extra if they wanted to ski!

Definitely not for me - too old to even try. I tried ice skating once and that was enough. Could not even walk on the ice!

I had my own ice skates as a youngster and spent most weekends at Richmond Ice Rink, but never been on ski, and now I am older to scared to even try..

Cindy

Sorry - but I'm a no as well, however there are so many people out there who do ski I would have thought it's atleast worth trying one trip to see how it goes.
