Hello all, Thank you Mick for highlighting this tour. Have just returned from Alpine Europe so catching up on all the latest Community gossip. Loved New Orleans and Memphis back in 2008- memories of having a drink on Bourbon Street listening to some band playing Blues while Hurricane Ike went past- winds were blowing at 50 mph. Beale Street and Graceland are amazing. Would like to do this tour as I have never been to Chicago. We stayed in Natchez- big antebellum house- Rosalie I think, where our guide asked us the difference between a veranda and a porch- you drink lemonade on a porch, mint julep on a veranda. My problem now is which date to book?Jan.

Jan,
Reckon you'll love chicago if you like the others, music clubs a bit more spread out but a bit of research you'll find them as a good few wakable from the hotel.
Not sure yet which trip I'll be on but November is slight favorite if i can wait that long.

Will,Couple of questions about this holiday -1. Would we have any free time in Memphis to visit the Lorraine Hotel (National Civil Rights Museum) ?2. On route to New Orleans from Memphis would we visit Clarksdale or Vicksburg ?thanksMickHi Mick, with regards to 1. most of the Memphis free time would be in the evenings, so it would depend on the opening hours. You can also elect not to do the Gospel visit on the Sunday morning which could free up enough time for you.2. we stop somewhere close to Jackson for lunch. We considered putting Clarksdale in but the feedback from the people in the know was that it wasn't a great idea.

Hi Mick,

Thanks Will,
Think the evening in Memphis will be spent on Beale St and think the Gospel visit would take priority.
Shame about Clarksdale would love to visit the crossroads which are the birthplace of the blues. Still appreciate you can't see everything.
Re question 1 .....I hope you do I went and saw this when I was in the music tour JY did a few years ago, it's a very interesting place to visit. I love learning about all that sort of thing...and Martin Luther King ..What a man....
Yes, big thank you for this trip. Am off on LIttle BIg Horn trip next month and was hoping there would be a new US trip for 2014 (have covered the places you go to on the other trips). This new trip looks great.
Katy,
