I have just received my final travel information for my holiday to Italy in May. I am flying with Jet 2 from Leeds Bradford airport and have reserved seats outward and inward bound and printed off boarding passes for both journeys. Easy once you know how! The 'how to book' was a step by step guide even for non techie me.

I've just returned from Picturesque Portugal using TAP Air Portugal. I was able to use the online check-in service whilst others had been advised by JY HQ that this was not possible. I think it really depends on the airline and JY should be engaging with them to permit us to do this on all holidays.

I assume you mean the Titanic exhibition in Belfast? (There are also excellent ones at Liverpool Maritime Museum and Sea City in Southampton)

JY actually did do a tour which included this - it was 'A Tale of Two Cities - Dublin and Belfast' and I went on it in 2012 but they rested it shortly afterwards and I don't think it has ever been re-instated.

If it is Belfast that you are visiting, and speaking as a bit of a Titanic buff, I would recommend that if you have some free time, take a 15 minute taxi ride to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum just outside the city (tell the driver you want the Transport section because it's a huge site). The UFTM has many more original Titanic artefacts than the Titanic 'Visitor Experience', including all of the Harland & Wolff archive.

It's also worth noting, if your tour guide doesn't take you, that about ten minutes on foot from the modern silver Titanic building,  are the old Harland and Wolff offices which have recently been turned into a hotel and the original Thompson Graving Dock where Titanic and her sister ships were dry docked for maintenance. It's run by a separate organisation so the people at the Titanic Experience often don't mention it, but it's well worth a look and quite impressive to stand on the floor of the dock, which gives you a real impression of the size of the Olympic Class liners, if you don't mind climbing a few steps! Also really worth visiting is the very last ship of the White Star line - Titanic's French tender - S.S Nomadic, which is on display in the Hamilton Dock opposite the Visitor Experience.

Hi everybody,  the Titanic Exhibition has been on ‘my list’ for a while and with no signs of JY offering it I booked an escorted short break with another company.  That’s not a criticism of JY just putting you in the picture.  When I received my final documents they contained info re reserving seats and printing boarding cards. So I did.  

The real point of this rambling on is to ask whether JY are intending to liaise with airlines and make this facility available. Especially as JY seem to be using the lower cost airlines rather than BA for many of their tours.
