Hello to all those on the Kenya trip. Looking forward to meeting you all in the lounge on Tuesday. Lots to do this weekend as am working on Monday. Getting very excited. Have got the currency. Only thing left is to charge the camera batteries and do the packing and then I am ready to go!

Regards

Jaya

Good Morning SusieB,

I have been told that you will mostly be in areas with no ATM’s and it would be better to take enough currency to cover the whole trip.

Kindest Regards,

Amy

Thanks Amy that's helpful.

Getting really excited now, c'mon next Tuesday

Hi Julia or colleague

Just a quick check re. currency, you say there are cash machines in larger towns/cities but do we actually go to any larger cities other than Nairobi at the beginning and end of the tour. I'm just wondering if I'll be able to use my currency card to get more cash  along the way or is it better to take enough currency (ksh & sterling} to cover the whole trip.

Thanks Sue

Hi

My Kenya Visa was applied for online so I have to make sure I take a hard copy with me. I guess Just You offered a service of getting the Visa from the Kenyan Embassy so obviously there would be an extra cost as someone would have to travel to and from the Embassy to lodge the passports and collect them. I would use Just You to get the Visas where you could not apply online or if I could not get to the Embassy myself.

Jaya

I always prefer to use the JY visa service as I take the view that the cost is small percentage of the holiday cost (and experience) which would be lost if the visa was refused or done wrongly and if JY have done it then any problems can be referred back to them to resolve.  I saw several travellers in Beijing recently who were refused entry having assumed that they did not need a visa or had the wrong one.  Many countries are making their visa application process more complicated and even worse changing the requirements frequently.

I am going to Russia in October and found the checking service really useful - I just have to go to the Embassy for fingerprinting so fingers crossed - literally.  I wish JY could do this one all the way through!!

Thanks Julia, obviously I appreciate there is a charge for your visa services. It was just quite a surprise to see from the other posts just how much it worked out at.

Having said that  though, I must be fair and say the service was excellent.

Thanks Sue

Hi everyone

Thanks for all of your comments regarding the Just You visa service. We do offer a hassle-free service which takes the worry out of you applying for and organising a visa. Our team personally take your passport to the embassy, having checked all documentation to ensure the speediest processing of the application. Our fees include our charges for this service. So yes, there is a price difference between making a direct application and utilising ourselves.

Our visa service is extremely popular as Just You takes the stress out of applying for a visa. Our customers advising us that they trust us to look after their passport, personal information and to deliver an efficient service.

We appreciate that many of you are more than happy to apply to the appropriate Embassy directly. If you would rather we take the hassle out of the process our Visa team can assist.

I hope this explains why there is a price differential between you applying directly to the appropriate Embassy and utilising our Visa team.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi - i have just got back from Kenya and i took money with me. Also remember that you have to get a travel visa. It is cheaper to pay in GBP as it was only £25, they also took 50USD and 35 Euros which is quite clearly a lot different!!!!!

Wish I'd known about that. I got mine via JY and it cost £75. Quite a difference eh!!

Never mind, I'm still really looking forward to this trip.

Sue

Im also on this tour and also really looking forward to it. Hoping I can pack lightly to accommodate travelling, days in the jeep, evenings and poolside.

Im going to take local currency and credit card. Im assuming I will only buy the odd local craft and use of the bar.

See you all in the airport lounge.
