I'm travelling BA on the Malta trip so I'll be able to chill out and not worry about printing off a boarding pass before I leave home.
Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
kind regards
Jacquie
Glad to be of help! In answer to your question, generally you can't check in online and must do it at the airport - more and more airlines are using the electronic booths for us to check ourselves in these days and after printing boarding passes, we then go to bag drop. If there is no booth, just go to the check in counter (if there appears to be none, go to a bag drop counter and ask if you can check in - I've done this numerous times when there hasn't been a specific check in desk). There is usually a member of airline staff loitering around to give assistance if you get stuck with this. The thing I really don't like is that some airlines now get you to print off your luggage label and affix it yourself to your luggage - it's a bit complicated to do until you get used to it (I haven't yet!) but again there is usually a member of staff to help with this. Don't worry about it, you'll be fine!
The main exception to checking in online is with EasyJet and Ryanair when I think you have to do this yourself before you leave home, but JY should indicate this clearly in your final documents. I think if you are one of the fortunate few who upgrade your flight you can check in online and choose your seat etc. but those of us going cattle class can't do this on most tours, as the booking reference is for the group.
All the best,
Bob
Hi Mildred,Would there not be a JY airport rep to help with check in? I thought all JY tours had an airport rep at the main departure point at least! All the best,Bob

Hi Bob
As a seasoned JY traveller you obviously know to ask all the right questions ;)
Is there a thread that tells you how to check in, for example, can I check in on line and print my own boarding pass in advance using the booking reference on my confirmation, then just drop bags at bag drop or do I need to check in at the check in desk when I get to the airport? What's the norm?
Thanks for your continuing responses (not just to me), your experience is a blessing.
regards
Apologies for the confusion- There will be an airport rep at Gatwick. But the local tour manager will be joining you when you arrive in Malta.
Kind Regards,
Mildred
There wont be a Just You rep at Gatwick but you will be met by a local tour manager when you land in Malta.
As soon as you book the holiday, you will get your booking reference on your confirmation invoice. You will also get sent a final information pack 2 weeks before your departure date.
I hope this helps.
Good Afternoon Jacquie,There are currently 24 travellers booked on this trip and the group is made up of 9 men and 15 women. The age ranges from early-60s to early-80s. There are also 8 travellers flying from Gatwick airport so you will not be alone. Kind Regards,Mildred
Good Afternoon Jacquie,

Thanks very much for this information. I tend to research my holidays thoroughly and as this is my first JY holiday it's good to be able to get more information as I normally make all my own arrangements.
With this in mind, do you know if there will be a JY rep at Gatwick?
Also, I haven't yet figured out how to check in on line for a JY holiday. Do you send the booking ref with my documents 2 weeks before? Info on how it works would be helpful.
Thanks again
thanks in advance
