Hi

When I did the Kerala tour, there were quite a few little monkeys when we stopped near the waterfalls but they carried on minding their own business. When I went to India in 1994 (independently) and I had a big guava in my hand when we got out of the car at one spot and suddenly a great big monkey appeared and took the guava from my hand. He was gentle and I was not going to argue with him! We also encountered monkeys at the foot of the Amber fort. I had bags of peanuts and again a great big monkey just came and took them all from my hands. Following this a mother with a baby was gently grasping my ankles begging for food when we were climbing up. I was not bitten and had not even though about getting a rabies jab before going. I think you will be okay as long as you do not try to 'fight' with the monkeys! Have a great time.

Regards

Jaya

Good Morning Rubytour,

I think you may come into contact with monkeys but it is not guaranteed however we always advise you to speak with your GP about vaccinations before coming on tour.

With regards to the teabags etc., I contacted our agents and they advised:

Please note that clients can carry these items in their check-in baggage provided properly packed and if Indian custom ask then they have to declare however all these items should be in limit for individual use and not in bulk. Further we request you to reconfirm with your International carrier that they may have different security norms.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

thank you Mildred

Can I ask the tour manager if we come into contact with many monkeys ( temple visits etc) as I am not getting clear guidance if i should have  rabies vaccinations.

Also am I allowed to have teabags/ cereal bars/ porridge sachets  in my hold luggage.

Odd questions I know but I am sure the tour managers have heard them all before.

thank you

Hi I did this tour in 2012 and Barbara was the tour manager then.  She is fantastic, so well organised, lots of fun and she knows India so well.  You will be in safe hands - just go with an open mind and be prepared for lots of new experiences!

All the best,

Bob

Good Afternoon Rubytour,

The tour manager provisionally allocated to this tour is Barbara Eastlake.

Kind Regards,

Mildred
