We have been asked to introduce mobility statements from our specialist services team on the majority of brochures that are sent out. They are only a guide so that travellers are able to judge from the outset whether or not a tour is suitable for them. That said, the team are always happy to discuss individual parts of a tour that has prompted the particular mobility statement.

For river cruises, the statement may be prompted simply because the ships are moored alongside other boats and you may have to walk across other ships to reach dry land - this can be a problem for some travellers. If there is a trip you are interested in, please don't be put off by the mobility statement, our team will be able to give you more information so that you can make an informed decision as to whether or not it is suitable for you.

I can understand it on some of the river cruises, and certainly on some of the trips as well.  :s

I do have one question to ask.  Before I even considered booking the Imperial Cities of the Danube River Cruise, I asked if the optional excursions involved many steps etc.  I received, eventually, an extensive reply from, I think it was Monty, then, reassuring me that most of the walking was flat walking.  I have looked at the brochure this morning, and it mentions about mobility and steps without handrails ( as is now on the majority of the JY trips).  Is this something that JY are now going to add to ALL trips, as a general guideline?  If so, fair enough, and I shall have to look elsewhere in future.
