Thanks Julia, that's good news ?.

Hi Magpie,

I can confirm (and it has been posted elsewhere) that this policy has been reversed and we are continuing to share this information.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi,

I'm not overly bothered by age range or male/female ratio as I just talk to anyone on a tour, but it is imperative I know the tour is likely to go ahead otherwise I would lose any money I'd paid for hotels/flight connections, and may not be able to change my leave at work. I hope JY will still be able to provide this information, even just to say minimum numbers have been reached and/or the tour has been given the green light to operate.

Regards

Caroline

Reading with interest all the comments about whether or not Just You should release information about how many passengers, ages, male/female ratio's are booked for each trip. But don't really understand why anyone should think this necessary to know. I book a JY trip based on the holiday destinations that I am interested in, not anything else. It's always nice to make friends on the holidays but wouldn't book based on ratios. In regards to how many booked, surely if someone is put off because of small numbers booked, it is that very situation which may then put the trip in jeopardy of not going.

Hi charleyhorse,

The main point as far as I am concerned is that I have to book my holidays very carefully so they fit in with work commitments so I need to keep track of how many are booked etc to see whether the tour is likely to go ahead or not, or whether I need to be looking at alternatives.  I had a tour cancelled last year and it took a lot of reorganising to be able to book an alternative.  Therefore being able to check when booking whether there are a reasonable level of customers booked and asking from time to time for an update has been invaluable for me.  Otherwise, to be told the week the final balance is due that the tour isn't going to run would not leave me with enough notice to find an alternative.  And my holidays are VERY important to me!

All the best,

Bob

Just adding my twopenneth...

Being fortunate enough to live by the sea I am not interested in the resort type holidays and trips are chosen, as for Charleyhorse, by reference to the destination and whether the trip ticks all my personal boxes as to the places I want to go to and see.

I have used another company from time to time who have a few days ago sent me their brochure for their brand new solo holiday arm so I suspect this new policy is perhaps down to sensitivity with giving out too much information to competitors.

Whilst absolute numbers are not, to me, a deal breaker I sympathise with those who like this detail.

However, what we also seem to have lost is information on the departure dates pages about tours filling up. I have looked at several at random and the only information that now seems to be there is "Available" or "Sold out". There has in the past been additional information as a tour fills up alerting people to the fact that there are only 3/2/1 or whatever places left. I can not see that this is in any way competitor sensitive and it is a very good marker if you are looking at long term planning, have annual leave to book, are saving up etc etc in helping decide if you need to book now as without any warning that the tour is filling up you can easily find you have missed out.

Good Afternoon Cindy,

That's alright Cindy- I understand everyone's frustration and I appreciate your understanding.

I have made them aware of the disappointment from all the forum users and they are monitoring all the feedback.

Kind Regards,

Mildred.

Mildred

I am sorry your getting so many postings and we know it is not your fault, but you are our contact.

Yes I know far more ladies travel on a tour than men having done so many tours over the years.

May a suggest that the powers that be informed of our disappointment and can I strongly ask that we the customer are given and honest and truthful answer. As seeing the amount of postings I think I can say we are not happy.

Again sorry to address this to you Mildred,

Cindy

Mildred, seems absolutely bizarre that you can give out the age range but not the rest of the information.

I think we all know that there are usually more women than men on trips, so the bland statement you have been given to pass on to us is infuriating and unhelpful.

Cant stress enough how the number on any tour would affect whether or not I booked.

I suspect I may not be travelling with JY again after my next 2 tours, which I know - from previous information - have about 20-25 on them.

Katy

Good Morning Cindy,

I can still give out age range but I cannot give out m/f ratio however I can tell you that women are usually the majority on most of the Just You tours.

The decision to change the company policy has been carefully discussed over the past couples of years. I cannot tell you why the company policy has changed because this information has not been passed on to me.

Kind Regards,

Mildred.
