I presume that JY will contact me when it's time to send my passport away, perhaps sometime in November to allow for the Christmas post. If I send my passport away promptly I could have it back by end December latest.

I've just gone through the process and got the visa - going to Burma on 31st October.  I sent my passport off end August, looking at the visa it is stamped as issued on 6th September and the passport was returned to me last Thursday 15th September.  I did speak to someone at JY who told me that they send the passports once a week to the Burma embassy, on a Tuesday, so I guess if it arrives on a Wednesday it would wait for the next batch.  I was anxious about sending my passport off, but it worked out fine.

Apologies for the delayed response.

A visa is sent out 10 weeks before departure if travellers are having documents emailed to them or 15 weeks if by post. We need the passport for about 21 days to get the visa.

I'm booked on the Burma tour on 13th Feb next year. Could you tell me when you would need my passport for the visa application process, and when it would be returned to me please?

I'm thinking of squeezing in another tour between now and next February but it would all depend on how long I would be without my passport.
