This is one tour I want to do, but not possible next year. I am being selfish in that Gatwick suits me better so hopefully the flights will be out of Gatwick if the tour is extended beyond 2017.

Hi Cindy,

Yes, you are correct. The brochure shows LHR for both 2016 & 2017 departures, whereas online the airport has been changed to LGW for 2017 dates.

So for anyone who is considering the Ultimate Alaska tour for 2017, PLEASE NOTE that departures are from Gatwick, NOT Heathrow.

Cheers

Mike

Hi Monty,

Thank you very much for clarifying this for me. The change to Gatwick has almost certainly ruled this trip out for me. Whilst I'll accept travelling to Heathrow (110 miles from just north of Birmingham), I'm not prepared to consider Gatwick as a suitable option as it adds a further 40 miles (each way) to my road journey.

Changing departures to an airport that is only convenient and useful to people who live in London and south of the capital does not seem to be a clever way of making your holidays more accessible and attractive to potential customers. Something for JY to reflect on perhaps?

Many thanks again.

Mike

I think Mike is saying it states in the brochure LHR and online LGW so there is an error in the brochure..

Cindy

Hi Mike,

We fly do from Gatwick on our 2017 holidays. I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused by the change of airport.

Kindest regards,

Monty

Hi Monty,

I received the new JY brochure today and, while browsing excitedly through all the lovely holidays, I noticed that departures for the Ultimate Alaska tour next year are from Heathrow.

This contradicts the information shown on the website which quotes Gatwick as the point of departure for 2017 dates. Can you tell me which is correct please?

Many thanks

Mike
