Rip,

I agree with you and hate it when holidays are quoted in days and not actual nights in resort.

Basically its take two off for American holidays and one day off for European.

Then you get the real length of the holiday.

Sadly JY are only doing what others do but to count a few hours over the Atlantic as part of the holiday is wrong in my eyes.

I totally agree with your thinking all the USA tours I have been in, land VERY early and that's counted as a day.....NOT in my eye it isn't...

BTW I noticed a box at the L/H side of your posting with WWW clicked on it and it takes me to your Blog, fantastic......maybe it's just me but only just noticed it, has it been there long?

Hi,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are mindful that there is indeed a error in the brochure, the break is for 3 nights with the tour finishing on the fourth day after the circle line cruise. The earliest flight back to the UK departs at 18.30hrs, which means you will have time to do the cruise. In regards to the Broadway show, this would only be possible on the evening of day 3.

We will of course be contacting any customers that have already booked on the tour. I am sorry for the inconvenience

Kindest regards,

Monty

Hi

This "thorny" topic has been discussed on the forum in the past. I agree that the description of holidays as being of a certain duration is misleading but is not inaccurate as per Monty's explanation!

This is not what it states in the JY brochure.

Day 1 Fly to New York, evening get together etc.

Day 2 New York Tour

Day 3 Central Park & Fifth Avenue

Day 4 Circle Line cruise.

Day 5 Today we transfer to the airport for flight back to UK.

It appears from what you say we transfer to the airport for flight home at about 4.30 pm on Day 4. Is this enough time for the Circle line cruise and perhaps see a Broadway show as mentioned in the brochure?

HI Rip Van Leech,

You do have 3 nights' accommodation, as you depart from New York on your 4th evening. You will arrive in the UK on the morning of Day 5.

I hope this helps and irons out your confusion.

Kindest regards,

Monty

I am considering the 5 Day holiday to New York City. The JY brochure states the duration of the holiday is 5 days. These 5 days include the days of travel from and to the UK, and there are 3 full days in New York City. However when looking on the JY website it states the departure from the UK is on a Friday and the departure from New York is on a Monday. That is only four days, including the days of travel, and only two full days in New York City. When I rang to query this I was told the New York holiday is indeed 5 days because the return flight arrives in the UK at 7.05 am on a Tuesday. The 5 days being Friday to Tuesday. This is not what it states in the brochure. Also on page 26 of the brochure it states 3 nights’ accommodation is included, but looking at the itinerary on page 27 four nights’ accommodation would be required. I’m confused. Am I missing something? Please clarify?
