I have done the Deep South twice, the first in Sept/ October 2008. Beautiful weather except for Hurricane Ike which caused massive flooding and curtailed our holiday. Standing on Bourbon Street in 50 mph winds with a drink in my hand listening to a Blues band, magic, for my daughters absolute terror wondering if I was alright 😕 Pure bad luck as it was supposed to be going up the East coast and diverted into the Gulf of Mexico.

Last year we went at the beginning of November, cold in the evenings, t shirt weather in the days.
