Thanks Monty,
Hi Mick and Sally,

I am very sorry for the long reply. I have been chatting to a couple of members around JYHQ to find out if you are all in the lounge or not. I can confirm that 17 of you are booked into a lounge, but unfortunately, there are two of you who cannot get a pass. We have tried to get a Lounge Pass for these two customers, but have had no luck. If you are one of the unlucky ones, you will receive a letter to confirm this.

I will sort out the exchange of email addresses for the both of you now.

Again, apologies for the length of time it has take to reply.

Kindest Regards,

Monty

Monty,

Not sure if you noticed on earlier posts on this thread (23rd/24th sept) Sally and myself gave permission to exchange emails.

Thanks

Mick

Hi Mick

I phoned about the lounge pass last week and was told it was still included. I decided just to wait and see whether the pass arrived or not. Is there anything interesting in the final info pack? I'm working away this week so won't get it til Friday.

Sally

Hi Monty

Hope you enjoyed your day off. Back in post #13 and #14 Mick and I asked to swap email addresses. Could I ask you to sort that for us please?

Sylvia - thanks for your advice it is really helpful.

I haven't heard anything about the lounge - that is a shame. Perhaps we could arrange a suitable place to meet and hope to catch wandering JYers passing by.

Sally,

Got my final documents today and to my surprise there is a lounge pass in them so things must have changed since i recieved the phone call.

So will be seeing you in the lounge for a few Brandy coffees, look forward to meeting everyone.

Thanks Sylvia, could I ask for any tips for items to take aside from the usual, suncream, insect repellant, hat. Was there anything you didn't take which you wish you had? Were there many opportunities to dress up in the evenings?

Sally

Hi Sally

Things to take? You should definitely take all meds and toiletries you need. And, things for use in the public conveniences because some of them are lacking in many things, even soap and water! So ensure you have ample supply of toilet tissue, sanitiser, wipes etc. Our tour gave away our toiletries from the hotel and I had bought a supply of toothpaste and brushes, pens, pencils etc for the children. But if you do give things to the locals, give it to those who do not ask as they appreciate more than the career beggar. And don't forget the local guide and driver who are less well off than us.

Dressing up in the evening? You'll have the odd occasion where you might want to dress up. Our TM (Filomena Lima) organised a visit to a theatre in Camaguey to watch children doing ballet - cute. A couple of ladies were keen to see opera or whatever was on in Havana, I think. If you visit Tropicana Nightclub and of course the farewell dinner you can put your glad rags on!

The obvious advice is do not wear too much (or any jewellery) as we were advised by our TM that two ladies got mugged on a previous tour.

Hope this helps.

I think the Flying Horse is probably a good bet - I will need to have breakfast (I know you will get breakfast at your hotel). If you give Monty the okay we can exchange email addresses and sort out the finer detail.

Not booked breakfast at hotel was planning on something in the lounge so will now get something at the flying horse. OK with me if Monty can exchange our emails.

Sally,

Most of the food outlets are on the upper level, suggest either Wetherspoons or Costa Coffee (decision and time yours, lol). Hopefully we'll both pick up some of the others at check in.
