I would like to add, that the standard of coaches used seems to vary considerably. Last autumn our coach on the "New England " tour was the worst I have ever been on in six JY holidays. It was really ancient with very uncomfortable plastic seats. The seat belts ere either missing or not working, I can understand difficulties in some countries, but decent coaches are surely available in America, especially when the tour involves long coach journeys every day.
I have been in many tours and I would say more often than not there are seat belts, I am sorry to say I am a rebel and do not put them on, as I hate to be restricted. I do understand the implications.

Hi fleurbyfleur,

I spoke to our health & safety manager who has advised that;

"All Leisure Holidays will request all coach operators comply with local law. In cases where risk seats do not have seat belts and there is insufficient capacity on the rest of the coach to accommodate all customers, All Leisure Holiday Tour Managers will arrange alternative transportation."

I hope this helps.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Does JY have a policy on seat belts on tour coaches?

Or is it simply down to abiding by the laws in any particular country?
