Thank you Bob and David. I have found the photos in Photobucket in my account so I had saved them after all!!

If your laptop has died the hard drive may still be OK. If it is OK the drive can be removed and the data recovered.

Hi Elaine, having had a few bad PC problems in the past, I save my favourite photos on the camera and on a usb stick as well as on the laptop, just in case!! I also print the best ones out and put them in an album, very old fashioned I know but it's the best way to look at them I reckon!

Thanks Julia. Unfortunately I was unable to salvage a couple of photos I wanted to keep but apart from that everything is okay.

Just to let you know that my laptop died last week. :s

I have a new email addy which as currently I cannot access my old email I wondered if you could pass on to the JY team in case they have anything important to send me via email.
