Hello Jill,

I hope the following will help to clear this up a little. When travelling to Zambia you are restricted to bringing in and taking out a maximum 100 Zambian Kwacha. You can however take in foreign currency but it must not exceed US10,000 or equivilent. You can exchange US dollars into the local currency at banks in Zambia and there is a Barclays Bank in the resort.

In terms of Optional excusrions, these need to be paid for in the local currency (Zambian Kwacha).

Hope that helps,

Julia

Hello Julia,

That's very informative and helpful, thank you very much.

Hello Julia,

Am doing the Zambian add on in September but am getting very confused about the money situation. How much are we allowed to take in and in what currency? Some web sites say you can only take the local currency which is limited to 100 and others say US dollars. Also, there are a couple of optional elephant trips listed on your recent info priced in British sterling which can only be paid for at the resort and if we are limited to the amount of local currency we can take in how can these be paid for?

Many thanks. Jill
