Hello Steve,I have been on the Lake Garda tour so you are based in one hotel. Coach maybe for upto 2 hours if you are going to Venice or Verona along with trips on the ferry shuttle up Lake Garda with the coach waiting at the other end back to the hotel and if the Tour Manager negotiates a fare for a ride on a Gondola, take it. Sounds like there is a new tour to Bologna in the catalogue due out in September which sounds food orientated :thumbup:Jan

The only Italian tour I have been on is the Tuscany highlights so if that's the one your interested in if there are any questions please just ask. I am sure I left a review about the holiday it was a few years ago. Do have a look on the review section and see what people say about the Italian tours. it might help you make up your mind.

Thanks for the reply, I was looking at the tour of Italy as maybe my first adventure.
HiI am new to your company and have just been sent a brochure of your holidays. My question is ref the Tour holidays. Is a coach used to transport everyone from one city to another? And how long would the average journey be in the coach? I just wondered how much of the day was spent in a coach rather than at the day destination.ThanksSteve

SteveAs Julia has stated it really does depend on the tour you would be doing, also some tours are full on out and about every day other tours are more hotel based so have a good read at the write up of what is involved, I tend to go for the full on tours so I am out and about most days, you do see so much but it does mean at times a long coach journey is involved but comfort stops are made along the way.I started using JY in 2006 and have had many holidays great sights to see and people to meet.Cindy

Hi Cindy
Thanks very much for taking the time to reply. Very kind of you. I was looking at the tour of Italy as my first holiday on my own.
The answer to both of those questions really depends on which tour you are looking at. For example, on our Inspirational China tour, the transfers between Beijing, Xian, Chengdu and Shanghai is by air, whereas our National Parks, Mount Rushmore & Little Bighorn tour is by coach and so the journey time can vary quite considerably.
Is there are particular tour you are interested in and perhaps I can provide a bit more detail. I'd also recommend that you take a look at the reviews section of the site and have a look at what fellow travellers have said, and I'm sure our members will also share their experiences.
Kindest regards,
Julia
