I am going on the America's Golden West tour in April and am trying to decide which of the Grand Canyon excursions to book. The Grand Canyon Connoisseur looks the most comprehensive at 91/2 hours hotel to hotel. Can you tell me what time is the pick up at the hotel in the morning and what time would I get back to the hotel in the evening? Thanks.

The Grand Canyon Connoisseur trip was well worth it. The only surprise was that the pick up time from the Stratosphere was 4am, not the 06.15 I was expecting! Our tour manager was able to get the pick up put back to 04.40 but it was still a bit early! The trip to Boulder City airport takes about an hour and then you have to check in and wait for your flight. The flight itself took 1 hour & 10 minutes and was amazing. The sun was just coming up as we left. Once you reach the Grand Canyon airport you then have a short coach trip to the National Park. We were at the first viewing point by 8am. Not many visitors had arrived and we had the place to ourselves. We had about an hour there before moving on to the second viewing point where we had about 50 minutes. The views are amazing but it is so frustrating not being able to stay longer. We were back at the hotel by 2pm. Hope you enjoy your trip.

I haven't done the flight but many, many, years ago went privately by car. I can vividly recall arriving at the car park, standing looking along the Canyon with tears in my eyes at the sheer beauty of it all. Douglas is right when he says photos don't do it justice, nothing can, you have have to see it for yourself. Fortunately we were able to stay overnight so were able to see a sunset and a sunrise. I have never forgotten it. I really hope you enjoy your trip however long it takes.

I understand that you are picked up from the hotel at about 6:15am and return to the hotel between 3:30 and 4pm.
