To you and all who will be travelling with you, I have this suggestion:

Slovenia is very beautiful in winter but very very cold.

So do make sure you take lots of warm clothes with you; gloves, scarf, hat, a good coat and winter boots.

It's likely to be a picture-postcard experience, so a fully charged camera is also a must.
