Hi Brownowl,

Yes, India has a closed currency and you can take either US Dollars or sterling and which you will be able to exchange in hotels. Credit cards are also widely accepted. Remember you must change your Indian Rupees back into Sterling/US Dollars before you depart.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi, I am off to Kerala in October, and understand that India has a closed currency. i note we are advised to take sterling or US dollars, but I was wondering if there is a preference. Is sterling easy to exchange, or do they prefer dollars? Thank you.
