I attended the last post at the Menin Gate a few years ago. Very humbling and will live with me forever.

Hi Maggie-b

As requested here is a little information about the Ypres excursion...

Enjoy a visit to Ypres where you will enjoy the Last Post ceremony which has been taking place since 11th November 1929 under the archway of the Menin Gate. The Menin Gate was built on the site of the medieval Hangoart Poorte, but there was no actual gate at the time of the Great War. British troops marched through this area to the front to defend the Ypres Salient. The Menin Gate is the British Memorial to the missing and shows the names of 54,896 soldiers who died between 1914 and 15th August 1917. Every evening at 20.00 the last post is sounded by buglers of the fire brigade. There will be time to enjoy dinner in a local restaurant which will be at your own expense

This is an evening excursion and you will leave the hotel around 18:15 and you will leave Ypres for your return journey to Lille at about 21:45. Please note, these timings are just a guide.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Could you give me some information about the added excursion to Ypres on the Lille trip i.e times and duration please
